Position DescriptionBeth Israel Medical Center is a 1,368-bed, full service tertiary teaching hospital that was founded on Manhattan's Lower East Side before the turn of the 20th century. Beth Israel Medical Center is comprised of three facilities as well as numerous medical practice sites throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn:

Petrie Division: First Avenue at 16th Street in Manhattan
Phillips Ambulatory Care Center: Union Square East in Manhattan
Kings Highway Division: in Brooklyn

The Karpas Health Information Center (KHIC) is the community health education outreach department of Beth Israel Medical Center. The Karpas Health Information Center is seeking a Program Planning Manager to manage all aspects of program planning including coordinating, scheduling, implementing, administering and evaluating health education programs both on and off site. This is a warm, friendly environment that values and supports creative health and wellness programs. We are seeking an enthusiastic health educator to be a part of our dynamic team.

Responsibilities are but not limited to:
* Creating and implementing health education programs that support life long wellness
* Representing the medical center and acting as liaison to community based organizations in partnership to create health education programs that meet the needs of the community
* Participating in health screenings and fairs
* Selecting and evaluating health education materials
* Collaborating with KHIC staff on promotion of health programs
* Teaching and facilitating health education programs

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Health Education or a health related field. Master's degree and a Certified Health Education Specialist preferred. Strong events coordination and strong partnership/community building skills required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with a wide-range of audiences and cultures. Capability to work on multiple tasks at once. Teaching or public speaking experience is highly desirable. Computer skills required. Personal commitment to health and well-being.
