| Position Description | The Histology Lab at Long Island College Hospital is looking for a Histology Technician to join its team. The ideal candidate will be a Histo Tech who is detail-oriented, can multi-task and enjoys working in a team environment. He/she must have experience that includes: grossing, special staining and embedding methodologies. As Histo Tech, they will produce high quality slides though processing tissue samples from fixation to paraffin, as well as use a microtome to cut samples and prepare slides for staining.
This is a full-time days, Monday through Friday position.
Qualified candidates for this position must have:
- A Bachelor's degree in biology or a related field.
- ASCP certification (or be eligible for it).
- One or more years experience working in a Histology lab.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) skills.
